On
"HOT 97", an "on air personality " called
"Star", a male, casually called Sonia Sanchez " A
Bitch"!
Who
is this ignorant Negro. Apparently he is the same germ who got widely criticized
for his remarks of Aaliyah. It's important to jump on this negro hard, because
money has made him and the whole nest of them think they can attack and insult
black people as a career. !

A SOUTHERNER DEFENDS THE STARS AND BARS

Lynrd Skynrd and the KKK

I
stumbled across this article on your web page regarding the Confederate flag at
a concert. How can you associate
Lynrd Skynrd with racism? Because
of the Confederate flag? Before you
write an article throwing racism around as freely as you do, I would suggest you
brush up on your history. The
Confederate flag was made an icon of the South long before the KKK.
The Confederate flag represents a heritage and frankly, a heritage I am
proud of. I am from the South and
am not Racist but I am opened minded enough to see the true meaning of the
Confederate flag. I understand the
KKK used the Confederate flag as their "symbol", and it may have
tarnished the flag’s image, but it is not the true meaning of the flag.
I am sure you are aware of the Enron situation.
And I am sure you are aware of the devastation and heartache it has
caused thousands of Americans. Hey,
I know, they used the letter "E" for their symbol so let's ban it from
the alphabet. Just quit using it
all together since the "E" caused so many problems.
Why don't you write and article about African Americans wearing the
"X" to represent Malcolm X? When
I see an African American wearing the "X", I think of hatred towards
whites so why don't you write about that? Honestly, I think this article is
absolutely ridiculous and the only "racism" I see here is the
stereotyping you have placed on Southerners and the Confederate Flag. You
mentioned you felt rage when the Confederate flag was displayed in the South,
well, I am enraged that someone as narrow-minded as you would write an article
such as this. ##

ANOTHER DEFENSE OF THAT FLAG?

CONFEDERATE FLAG

Dear
Black, Isn’t it time that all racists quit looking for difference? The
American Flag represented slavery also. The Civil War was not a war against
slavery (from SLAV,Eastern Europeans), but against Free Trade. The conflict
started in 1861. What were the armies doing until 1863? Milling about shooting
at each other for sport? Let's wake up! The Jews hated the Philistines, the
various African tribes hate each other. How about Yugoslavia? The real reasons
people are against the symbols are ignorance, bigotry, a chance to ask for
money, and simple racism. It's NOT confined to whites. Give it up, or root out
ALL racism, including your own.
Telling
others what to like is not American. I've heard and seen the most hatred from
blacks directed against other non-whites. Ask a Mexican or Puerto Rican what
they think about each other, or Cubans. I think the real problem here is too
many jerks with a tuition receipt who have NEVER associated with other groups,
or interacted HONESTLY with them, are trying to hustle. I, personally, have
known on a friendly basis people of many different ethnic groups, mental states,
sexual, religious, and political beliefs. The whole idea of a democracy is to
understand, not condemn. Do any damn thing you want to, don't hurt anyone else,
and don't try and convert me. Get an education in the real world, and get off
the idea you can judge people. "THE ONLY DARKNESS IS IGNORANCE",

Dear
Al,
Buzzy
Linhart's MUSIC album, from 1970, is one of my favorite 20 albums of all time.
That means, out of some 5,000 albums that I own, over the course of 40 years,
this album is in my personal all-time Top 20. The rhythm section, with Doug
Rodrigues on guitar, was the rhythm section of The Voices of East Harlem. If
this same lineup ever did another album together that I'm not aware of, I would
LOVE to buy it. Please convey this, somehow, to Buzzy, for whatever it's worth.
Best,
Josh

ROCK GROUPIE MOURNS STUART ADAMSON

[rockgroupietales] Stuart Adamson Lyrical Sourcebook

Hello
everyone,
like
many others, I was GREATLY SADDENED by the tragic demise last year of
singer/songwriter/guitarist extraordinaire Stuart Adamson. In the U.K. and most
of Europe, he was well known not only as the principal guiding light for the
WONDERFUL Scottish rock group Big Country, but was also renowned for his work
with the influential punk band The Skids("Working For The Yankee
Dollar"). I have always
regarded Adamson as a POET whose vivid imagery was set to MUSIC, rather than
simply a lyricist for a rock band. Recently,
I discovered a simply TERRIFIC website, dedicated to showcasing his IMPRESSIVE
body of work with Big Country. For
anyone who admires his music(and ESPECIALLY for those who are NOT aware of
it)this website allows you to easily access his work, with FULL lyrics available
for view PLUS an insightful interview with the late Adamson from 1998.
Here is the URL to access the website

Enjoy,Shirley ##
