Hi Al.

I really like what I'm reading of your "Blacklisted Journalist" pieces. Just got done with column number 1. The section on Billy Holiday brought goosebumps. . .

Thanks,

HE WAS A BUTCHER, TOO

Subject: Column 3

Al, I just got around to downloading your 3rd and 4th columns. I just read the 3rd column. It's great! I love stories like that. I'll read the 4th column later this week. My heritage is Italian American and much of my past is similar to yours. I was a butcher for four years. I started at 16, working part time in a neighborhood meat market. After I graduated high school, I worked there full time until I gave it up to become a rock n roll musician. . .Regards, Steve Coscia  ##

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed your article and find the history of various folks "catching a buzz" rather interesting. R. Dischler ##

JEFF LIKES MY STORYTELLING

Subject: Thank you

Al, A brief note to say THANK YOU ... I was part of the audience Sat. night at the Internet Cafe, one of the privileged few. That was my introduction to your work. You have genuine story-telling talent. It's wrong that you don't have proper recognition, but I'm learning that I shouldn't be surprised by that.

Seems like true artists are on Mars, to kinda/sorta paraphrase Jackie McLean. Some people just don't understand.

Again, for what it's worth -- thank you.

HE MUST'VE READ COLUMN SIX

You should try and find the Jesus Music album Nedra Ross put out in the 70s. It isn't bad, but I'm sure it's extremely rare.
